FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIIONS
| 1. Who do you serve? | I work with adults (18+) who reside in the province of Ontario, Canada. I also work with Veterans who live in Ontario and are referred through either Veterans Affairs Canada or are privately referred. Additionally, I work with current serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces who reside in Ontario. Last, I work the RCMP (Regular Members, Civilian Members, and public servants) who are referred through the RCMP or are privately referred and live in Ontario. Please visit the About page and Therapy Offerings page for more details. |
| 2. What is your hourly fee? | My rate is $175 per hour. I do not charge HST or any other tax on top of the rate. |
| 3. Are your services covered by insurance providers? | Many insurance plans offer coverage for RSWs (registered social workers) or psychotherapy. Please check in with your insurance program to see if you might have coverage. I am a registered Blue Cross provider (this is mostly relevant to Veterans, RCMP members and military members). |
| 4. What forms of payment do you accept? | I accept payment through: a) e-transfer or b) credit card (using Stripe through Owl Practice (please see #6 below). |
| 5. Do I need a referral to book an appointment? | If you are a member of the public (not a military member/veteran/military spouse and not a Regular Member or Civilian Member of the RCMP), you do not need a referral (whether from a doctor or otherwise). As part of the Blue Cross (insurance) process, if you are: – An acting serving military member, you are asked go through your CDU/medical services on base for a referral. – A veteran or military spouse, you are typically encouraged to go through a VAC case manager to initiate a referral. – An RM or CM of the RCMP, then you would be encouraged to go through Health Services. If you are a public servant of the RCMP, people will have generally spoken with their divisional health coordinator before reaching out. |
| 6. What platform do you use to host sessions? | At this time, I use Owl Practice. To learn more about this program, please click below: Trust & Security – Owl Practice Canada |
| 7. How do I book an appointment? | The first step is to book a free phone consult with me. If we both think my practice would be helpful to you, then we would book an initial appointment (to start reviewing informed consent and get to know you better). You can connect with me via my phone number or email address: Tel: 343-549-2886 Email: Laura@groundingcourage.ca |
